So I decided to do part of my PTP with Picasa. Can I just tell you how much I LOVE this source! It is SOOO easy to organize and edit your photos. I will probably use it in my future cooking classes to not only show cooking strategies but also to have my students share their cooking. These could be for missed assignments or projects.

Questions:
What edits did you make to the photo, and how did the edits make the image better for your teaching purposes?
- For the photo, I auto-edited the photo and cropped it down. I then put a border and text on the picture. For the presentation, I added the arrows for one of the pictures. It is beneficial for teaching purposes to point out specific points in the picture. You can also crop the photo to isolate a specific portion.
- As stated above, I can point out specific parts of cooking or sewing. Another thing I can do is crop to isolate a specific function.
- The presentation will be perfect for those who miss class or to watch before class to save time.
- Students who miss class can prove their actual recreation of food by using this. Or it can be used for projects.
- Presentations
- Online instruction
- Projects
- To show clear representation
- To have back-ups for substitutes
Thanks!!

Codi - I'm glad you picked Picasa, it really is a great tool! Please refer to the assignment page for Picasa to revise your blog post: you are missing part of the assignment, like embedding a photo you've edited "before" and "after" and answering some questions about your project. You're almost there! Email me when you've done that, and I'll look at it again. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm really hungry now that I've watched your picasa business. Really great especially if kids go home and cook or for a homework assignment/extra credit/make up work.
